I’m really looking forward to this gig. So happy to be playing with the Delis. Great songs great music, great atmosphere!
The group is just so enjoyable to play with…there’s so much fun and energy and the music can be breathtakingly beautiful. Delicatessen can be as raucous as anybody but also has a more sensitive side compared to many on the London Balkan scene. This group (five women and two men in the band for this gig – perhaps that makes a difference? – really does the dynamic contrasts well.
The gig will feature Paressa on accordion and vocals, Mutsumi and Emilie on violin, Jeremy on acoustic guitar, Patricia on oud, percussion and vocals, Duygu on percussion and yours truly on bass. Judging by the last gig, the audience will have their own part to play too. And the Green Note is a lovely venue!
